In the early hours of January 15th, a hopeful family journeyed from Oyam district to Lacor Hospital. A mother-to-be, accompanied by her husband and three supportive relatives, embarked on this journey with a mixture of anxiety and hope. They placed their trust in the renowned facilities of Lacor Hospital, after being referred by Ayeke Health centre IV, due to luck of capacity to handle c-section. They believed Lacor hospital to be the best place to welcome their much-anticipated bundle of joy.
Fiona Abonyo, a 23-year-old dedicated homemaker, and her husband, a hardworking farmer, have faced many challenges together. When Abonyo tested positive for pregnancy, by the third month, they discovered, she is carrying not one, but three babies. The news of triplets brought joy but also a new set of worries. However, with time, they embraced the news, viewing it as a blessing from God.
Abonyo’s growing belly made walking and sitting difficult, and she struggled with a loss of appetite. Yet, she faced each day with courage and determination.
On that fateful day in Lacor hospital, the dedicated medical team performed a successful operation to bring the triplets into the world. The hospital staff provided exceptional care, with nurses frequently checking on her recovery and ensuring her comfort. The new mother feels deeply grateful for the kindness and professionalism of the medical team.
The triplets, three healthy boys, are named Opio, Ocen, and Odong, following their cultural tradition of naming triplets. These boys are the firstborn children of the family, marking a new chapter in their parents’ lives. The joy of their arrival is profound, and the parents are filled with love and pride.
Despite the happiness, a new challenge looms ahead. The family now has to find the means to support their three precious sons. The mother, still recovering from the operation, is determined to give her boys the best possible start in life, but the financial burden weighs heavily on her mind.
The story of this family is one of resilience, love, and hope. It highlights the strength of a mother’s love not only for herself and the children but also the rooted dedication of our hospital in making mothers and children the core mission. As they navigate this new chapter, the community’s support and the strength of their familial bonds will be crucial in helping them overcome the challenges they face.
