On Thursday 9th March, 2023, the Uganda Kidney Foundation (UKF) awarded Dr Dan Oriba Langoya a distinguished service accolade for his contribution to the treatment of acute kidney injury in northern Uganda. The award was handed over by Dr. J B Waniaye, representing Margaret Muhanga, the State Minister for Primary Healthcare during the World Kidney Day Conference held at at Kabira Country Club.
“I am passionate about critical care nephrology. I cherish hard work, teamwork as well as innovation, and am determined to live a life that will make it easier for other to live,” he said
Inspired by the desire to give his patient excellent care, Dr Dan has had to be creative in a resource-limited northern Uganda, embracing innovations and enthusiasm geared towards saving lives.
“Let excellence be your brand… When you are excellent, you become unforgettable,” says Oprah Winfrey an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, media proprietor and the richest African-American of the 20th century. “Doing the right thing, even when nobody knows you’re doing the right thing will always bring the right thing to you.”
